How many people have died using licorice root?

yesterday at church, I brought up the manipulation of natural products by the FDA, ( FDA wanting to control the labeling of natural food products and their health bennefits.) and a man from church said," someone told me sonebody died frpm using licorice." His first words were you got to watch out for herbs. I know what I know but could not come back with an intelagent responce in defence of herbal use.
