How to tell my ex i really miss him?

Okay, let's get this clear, he broke up with me. So is it embarrassing to go back to him? i really love him and we've been texting a lot these days, the other day he called me two times and i didn't know then i asked him why he told me he needed me to spell licorice for him but the way he spelled it was like "likerish" could this be something? And he's always showing off in front of me and he tells me he likes this other girl but he won't even tell me her last name, he said he likes her but does not want to ask her out and i ask why he says its complicated. Oh and after he told me he needed me to spell that for him i asked why did he needed me to spell it, but he didn't reply. I also find him staring at me a lot these days, and whenever i get near him, he kind if smiles and moves away. Should i tell him i miss him and i want to get back together because i do not want to lose him, and he's the kind of boy thats used to girls wanting him back, so yeah but i truly love him, Do u think he wants me to tell him and do u think he feels the same way?
