Is this an okay reason to go on birth control?

well im 19 and on the pill since i have sex but the pill really does make cramps feel like nothing and gives super short periods. ive been on the ortho tri cyclen lo for over a year now and my periods are like 2 or 3 days, not even enough blood to fill a tampon. if the doctor doesnt bring it up, just ask. seeing as your going for a regular check up you will have to go to an ob/gyn for bc
