Should i remove my female betta?

After a few months of care, my male betta finally made its bubble nest, and i went on to place the female in the tank, inside a plastic container to protect her until she starts responding positively. While i was doing it, i accidentally dropped the container and destroyed the nest. I'm guessing the male will build another one, but he's been more busy flaring at the female than trying to rebuild the nest. Will he build it again or must i remove the female again?
